Hi, I’m Catherine Toews.

I am a designer, artist, and educator based in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.
I have been fortunate to spend my career working in nonprofit organizations in roles focused on marketing and education, and as a freelance designer for small businesses, creators & nonprofits.
I was born and raised under the prairie skies in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I’ve been lucky enough to live in Kingston, ON, Victoria, BC, and Erie, PA, but I am proud to now call the beautiful Niagara Region my home.

Websites, Branding & Digital Marketing
Design
I built my first website at the dawn of the internet and haven’t stopped building websites and working on design projects ever since.
I later went on to further my formal design education as part of my Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) degree at the University of Manitoba.
I have a thorough understanding of the unique needs of small organizations. I know how to provide excellent design solutions and customer service on a streamlined budget.
Highlighted here are selected projects from my design career, which spans over 20 years. I am based in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada and available to work with clients both locally and remotely.
Check out the services I offer and get in touch.

COMMUNITY YOGA CLASSES
Education
As an educator, I have delivered yoga, art, storytime, science, and movement programs for thousands of participants of all ages and abilities.
I am a certified yoga teacher with over 20 years of experience planning & leading creative programming in community spaces. My study of yoga has included specialized training and certification in yoga & mindful practices for diverse abilities, yoga for babies & parents / caregivers, as well as certification in Trauma-Informed Yoga & Mindful Practices for children & teens. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from the University of Manitoba and completed my 200hr yoga teacher training at the Yoga Centre of Niagara.
My teaching style encourages discovery and exploration, allowing plenty of space for experimentation and play.
I’ve been fortunate to spend over 19 years working and volunteering in nonprofit organizations in multifaceted leadership roles including Program Director at LEAF – Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park and Museum Manager & Program Director at the Museum of Health Care.
I love to collaborate with community spaces to offer warm, engaging, and inclusive environments where participants can laugh and learn together. Click here to learn more and view an overview of the yoga classes I offer.

A little bit more about me…
I love exploring new cities and outdoor spaces with my husband, son, and my funny dog named Pete.
At home in St. Catharines, you might find me reading a book with my cat Sparkle on my lap while eating (too many?) delicious Ontario apples and peaches.
