Design & artwork for a personal zine project.

Another personal project created alongside my mum, Sheila, and inspired by the artist Louise Bourgeois. River Women is the third collaborative publishing project my mum and I have completed together (preceded by Nineteen Vignettes and Lifescapes One and Two). Here is my mum’s description of the zine:

“Catherine completed a series of drawings in tribute to Louise Bourgeois’ Ode à la Bièvre. I was fascinated both by Catherine’s drawings of women’s faces and by the life story underpinning Bourgeois’ Ode. As I looked at Catherine’s drawings, I knew each woman had her own story to tell. I wanted to write those stories.

And that’s how River Women came to be. Nine stories inspired by Catherine’s art and Louise Bourgeois’ life story.”
