Web design for a local theatre with a 25-year legacy

Essential Collective Theatre (ECT) is a not-for-profit registered charity based in St. Catharines that produces contemporary Canadian theatre with a focus on new plays and Niagara work. The company prides itself on mentoring local emerging artists, supporting playwrights, and telling stories that hold up a mirror to the Niagara Region.

To honour over 25 years of theatre, I worked closely with the ECT team to design and build a WordPress site that is accessible, and easy to maintain, with a strong focus on clarity, usability, and visual consistency.

The new site streamlines content for audiences, funders, and artists, and includes flexible layouts for showcasing productions, promoting seasonal programming, and supporting community engagement. I also provided a lightweight custom style guide to support ongoing updates and branding needs. Since launch, we’ve continued to collaborate on new materials, including promotional design for fundraising events.
